Rocky is a ten year old Russian Tortoise (Horsefield) approx 8 inches long (about the size of a small dinner plate). Please keep an eye out for our beloved lost pet! He is an escape artist this month. We appreciate your help! Rocky the tortoise disappeared last weel, escaping from his outdoor pen while we were doing yardwork. We believe he is currently hiding in dirt/leaves somewhere near our home. This species can move quite fast, and these torts can burrow and climb. This is our first summer with Rocky. He is ten years old, but I just inherited him last fall when a friend suddenly passed away. He likes to be outside and it’s very healthy for him to do so, but he is an escape artist recently… We have a mostly enclosed yard, fenced in, and we are in the process of building him a special spacious outdoor pen in the yard, but it is not yet fully secure.
